Tis is a super cd! March 31, 2010 S. Bos (Sterling VA USA) I love this band to begin with so needless to say I love what they have done with other people's songs. Worth the purchase for sure!
Queensryche fails to disappoint this Ryche head! November 13, 2007 Ronault D. Trowbridge 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
There have been a bunch of cover albums from veteran bands over the last few years. funny how the one band I thought would never join the trend releases the best one I've ever heard. Many might say that Queensryche is just another 80s has been band trying to cash in on the work of other artists. But one listen to Take Cover continues to prove how far apart from 80s cheese the 'Ryche has always been. Queensryche has produced a humble collection of covers making the songs featured their own while still paying the proper respect to the original artists. "Odissea" is simply beautiful & their cover of Pink Floyd's "Welcome To The Machine" is an immediate favorite as well as "Red Rain" & "Neon Nights." Queensryche are not & never will be has beens & their work on Take Cover only wets the appetite for the band's upcoming all original opus.
Just Evening the Score - Come on "one star"!!!!!!! December 1, 2008 Phillip A. Anderson (Dallas, Texas) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Yeah - I would give this disc a solid, SOLID, 3 1/2 stars - maybe 4! But to give this disc less than 3 is just hating on Queensryche for stepping out and trying something different. Whoever wrote the review stating "you have to listen to it a few times" - was right. When I first got this I really didn't get it - it's different for sure - but to say they put no effort into this - BULL! I am a musician and know every song on this cd by the original authors like the back of my hand and what Queensryche have done is no easy feat. They re-arranged these songs (some for the better), which like I said was not easy. Most other bands just replay songs like they were written and add a little distortion - believe me - that is not being an artist. This LP took a lot of imagination - and after several spins - I am glad I bought it. Please write of anyone giving this less than a 3 star review. Peace.
Great Diversion January 7, 2008 M. L. Alverson (MI USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a long time Queensryche fan I really appreciated this CD. Gave the guys a chance to let their hair down and jam to some classics. Best cover "Heaven on Their Minds!" All of the songs rock. Listen to it over and over.

Great CD. Sounds a lot like his work with Black Sabbath. Melodic, hard driven riffs, great, macabre but nebulous lyrics.
